EUREPGAP Protocol

Frutaria has obtained the EUREPGAP certificate, the most prestigious given in the European Sector of Fresh Fruit and Vegetables. EUREPGAP is a protocol of certification that seeks a Safe and Sustainable Agriculture. It is formed by 21 European large supermarkets, consulting companies, manufacturers of fytosanitory products and growers of fruits and vegetables.

Its main aim is to obtain a healthy, safe and respectful for environment product. Because of this the EUREPGAP certified growers must base its management on the Good Agricultural Practices, which may be defined as a way to incorporate the integrated managing of plagues and cultures inside an agrarian commercial production. These Practices imply a solid commitment with the environment, both in the field (restricting the use of chemical products thanks to the techniques of the Integrated Fight) and in the final product (obtaining a low product in residues).
The certification EUREPGAP guarantees besides the traceability of the product in any phase of the production, from the field up to the final consumer including the packing and refrigeration.
